Lamborghini Aventador Superveloce

General Thoughts:
This brand new Aventador model is more powerful, lighter, and even better looking. The Superveloce features a numerous body mods, including new doors, rocker panels, and fenders, as well as modified scoops and a manually adjustable rear wing. The majority are rendered in carbon fiber, helping reduce the overall weight by 110 pounds according to Lamborghini. The last Aventador weighed 4085 pounds, the 110 fewer pounds isn’t insignificant as it shaves tenths from the acceleration. The new design has not only reduced the weight but also increased the aesthetic visuals.

Lamborghini says its aerodynamicists strove to improve both downforce and aerodynamic efficiency without increasing drag. Great success: Downforce is up by a claimed 170%, and aero efficiency has been increased by 150%.

Lamborghini didn't leave the interior alone. Black microsuede covers the majority of the interior's surface, and Y-shaped yellow inserts are found on the racing-style seats. The Superveloce also becomes the first production car to feature a soft new carbon-fiber-based fabric that Lamborghini calls “Carbon Skin”; it’s also used for the headliner. The TFT gauges have also been redesigned, with yellow as the dominant colour, the shift indicator in light blue, and a g-force meter occupying the lower part of the cluster.

The 6.5-liter V-12’s power increase has been confirmed, with the mega motor churning out 740 horsepower at 8400 rpm and 509 lb-ft of torque at 5500 rpm, an increase of 49 cavalli compared with the standard Aventador. For the Lamborghini scholars, you may recognise the output numbers as being the same as the 2013 Veneno. Lamborghini expects the SV to boost from zero to 62 mph in 2.8 seconds, to 124 mph in 8.6 seconds, and to 186mph in 24 seconds. The Superveloce is rumoured to top out somewhere in excess of 217 mph.

The Superveloce also incorporates magnetorheological shocks, variable-ratio steering, carbon-ceramic brake rotors, forged matte-black wheels measuring 20 inches up front and 21 inches in back, and Pirelli P Zero Corsa rubber.

Lamborghini describes the Aventador Superveloce as “the most sports-oriented, fastest, and most emotional series-production Lamborghini ever”; ignore the highly emotional Miura, and we might be inclined to believe the statement. This 'Super' Aventador has a high bar to vault, as previously witnessed with the Huracán, hitting 60 in just 2.5 seconds.

The Aventador Superveloce goes on sale in late spring of this year. Lamborghini developed a special “Rosso Bia” red as the Superveloce’s launch colour, with five additional colours offered off the rack. Ultimately the new Aventador encompasses the true genius that Lamborghini has forged with its experienced and knowledgeable engineers and designers
